Florida DB Zamari Maxwell close to making a decision
IOWA CITY, Iowa – Florida native Zamari Maxwell chose a perfect time to make his official visit to Iowa.
Maxwell was part of the sellout crowd of 70,585 that watched Iowa crush rival Iowa State 42-3 on Saturday in a rare night game at Kinnick Stadium. He attended the game as part of his first visit to Iowa City.
The resounding victory helped to put Iowa at, or near the top, of Maxwell’s short list of favorite schools. He also has Kentucky and Central Florida in his top three, and is close to making a decision.
It was hard for Maxwell to pick one thing that impressed him the most about his visit to Iowa City because he liked everything about it.
"I’d be lying if I didn’t say everything (was my favorite)," said Maxwell, who is being recruited as a defensive back. "It was crazy. (The craziest part) was the noise and the die-hard fans."
Maxwell got to see Iowa’s new football facilities up close. He also met with the Iowa coaches and players in person for the first time.
Maxwell said he plans to visit to Central Florida soon and would like to make his college choice within the next month.
