Friday’s podcast talks about facing Rutgers on the road and more
IOWA CITY, Iowa – This podcast talks mostly about the Iowa football’s team Big Ten opener at Rutgers on Saturday and what it’ll take for the Hawkeyes to get back on the winning track.
Iowa is trying to bounce back from last Saturday’s 23-21 loss to five-time defending FCS national champion North Dakota State at Kinnick Stadium.
The loss has some fans accusing Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz of being too conservative and too predictable, mostly because Ferentz chose to run instead of passing on the first two plays of Iowa’s final possession.
Iowa was held to just 34 rushing yards in the game.
Rutgers could be just what the Iowa ground attack needs to get back on track. The Scarlet Knights are ranked 13th in the Big Ten in rushing defense, allowing 178 yards per game.
