AH-TV: Iowa players talk about victory over Savannah State
IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa men's basketball team got some much-needed help from its bench during a 116-84 win over Savannah State on Sunday at Carver-Hawskeye Arena.
Iowa was without sophomore forward Nicholas Baer and freshman forward Tyler Cook for much of the first half due to foul trouble. Sophomore guard Brady Ellingson scored 21 of his 23 points in the first half on 7-of-9 shooting, including 4-of-6 from three-point range and freshman forward Cordell Pemsl scored 18 points and was a perfect 7-of-7 shooting to go along with nine rebounds.
Highly-touted freshman forward Tyler Cook also chipped in 14 points in just 15 minutes of action, as everyone that played for Iowa scored.
