Former Iowa offensive coordinator Don Patterson is our guest each Monday on the Allhawkeyes podcast.
Patterson takes a close look at the Iowa football team’s 14-13 victory over No. 2 Michigan this past Saturday at Kinnick Stadium and questions some of Jim Harbaugh’s coaching decisions late in the game, including passing on third down on Michigan’s final possession of the game.
Patterson also looks back at Iowa’s 12-10 victory over No. 2 Michigan in 1985 when he was a Hawkeye assistant coach under Hayden Fry. That game also was decided by a field goal as time expired at Kinnick Stadium.
Patterson then warns of a letdown against Illinois this coming Saturday in Champaign, Ill.
Patterson spends nearly 30 minutes talking about the Iowa football team, providing the kind of insight that you can’t get from a member of the media or from a typical fan.
This podcast is so serious that we had no time for our usual drifting. We apologize to those who enjoy our drifting, but sometimes, duty calls.
