AH TV: Iowa players talk about the challenge of facing Seton Hall on Thursday
IOWA CITY, Iowa – After two lopsided victories to start the season, the Iowa men's basketball team will face a significant step up in competiton against Seton Hall on Thursday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
The 2-0 Pirates return four starters from last season's team that won the Big East Tournament and played in the NCAA Tournament. Junior Khadeen Carrington leads Seton Hall in scoring with a 22.5 per-game average and is considered one of the top shooting guards in college basketball, along with Iowa senior Peter Jok.
The game will start at 8:06 p.m. and is part of the Gavitt Tipoff games matching teams from the Big Ten and Big East Conferences. The Gavitt Games is named in honor of Dave Gavitt, founder of the Big East Conference.
This will be second meeting between the two schools. Iowa defeated Seton Hall in the previous meeting, 85-63, on Dec. 29, 1982 in the Rochester Classic in Rochester, N.Y.
The game will be televised by the Big Ten Network.
Here are multiple interviews with select Iowa players and head coach Fran McCaffery talking about the challenge of facing an elite opponent. While the Pirates have four returning starters, McCaffery had to replace four starters from last season.
