IOWA CITY, Iowa – 2018 running back RaShawn Allen is still waiting on his first Power Five scholarship offer.
The Orchard Lake, Mich. native is hopeful that the attention he's been receiving from Iowa results in an offer down the road.
"I know that an offer from Iowa would be huge," Allen said. "It is Power Five school in the Big Ten that competes at the highest level. They are a great team with great coaches and I would love the opportunity to go there."
The 5-foot-9, 200-pound Allen has never visited Iowa before but said he's working on setting one up. He has also begun to develop a relationship with Iowa defensive coordinator Phil Parker after Parker made a visit to his school recently.
Parker sees Allen as the complete package at running back.
"I've been able to talk to coach Parker when he came down to visit my school to see me," Allen said. "He said he loved my film showing my vision, explosiveness, and power."
Allen is not only looking for a successful football program but a university with a high academic status. Allen will have no trouble getting accepted anywhere he'd like to go as he holds offers from Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia and Dartmouth.
"I'm very interested in a school that offers both high academics and athletics," Allen said.
Allen said he's still letting the recruiting process play out and doesn't have a timetable set for a decision.
