Jeff Jenkins gets dream offer from Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa – 2018 offensive lineman Jeff Jenkins wasn't expecting a scholarship offer from Iowa, but when it came a dream of his came true.
Jenkins, a native of Crystal Lake, Ill., received the offer from Iowa on Friday and now has the Hawkeyes at the top of his list.
"I still can't believe it," Jenkins said. "I'm in shock and I'm so grateful. They're right on top (of my list), it's a dream offer."
The 6-foot-4, 260-pound Jenkins doesn't know much about Iowa, but likes Iowa's penchant for producing quaility offensive linemen.
"(I like) their linemen tradition," Jenkins said. "They're always good and I hear the campus is very pretty."
Jenkins thinks the Iowa coaching staff likes his all-around game and said Iowa's proximity to his hometown is a plus but not a decided factor in his eventual decision.
"It's nice only being three hours away but I don't make that into a big factor," Jenkins said. "Distance doesn't matter to me."
Jenkins also holds offers from Toledo, Central Michigan, Northern Illinois, Bowling Green and Ball State.
Iowa already has one player committed to its 2018 class in three-star linebacker Mike Bruner who is a native of Mequon, Wisc. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Bruner verbally committed to Iowa on Oct. 24.
