AH TV: Maryland post-game featuring McCaffery and select Iowa players
IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa men's basketball team had its eight-game home winning streak snapped on Thursday as Big Ten leader Maryland hung on for an 84-76 victory at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Iowa trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half before storming back in the second half to take the lead.
Maryland guard Melo Trimble then made two 3-points baskets down the stretch to help secure the victory.
The Terrapins improved to 17-2 overall and 5-1 in the Big Ten, while Iowa fell to 11-9 and 3-4 in the conference.
Iowa now has the weekend off to get healthier and to fix some of the things that hindered its performance in the last two games. Northwestern defeated Iowa 89-54 last Sunday in Evanston, Ill.
Senior guard Peter Jok was held to 14 points against Maryland and then said afterwards that his back still was bothering him. Jok first complained about back pain in the Northwestern game.
Here are video interviews featuring Jok, Maryland coach Mark Turgeon, Iowa coach Fran McCaffery and some other Iowa players.
