IOWA CITY, Iowa – It took just over a week for Jeff Jenkins to decide that Iowa was the place for him.
Jenkins, a native of Crystal Lake, Ill., was offered a scholarship by Iowa on Jan. 13 and announced his commitment to the Hawkeyes on Sunday after an unofficial visit.
"First off, I'd like to thank my parents for everything they've done for me and their support throughout my whole football career," Jenkins said on his Twitter account. "Also thank you to all the college coaches who believed in me and offered me a scholarship to their university.
"With that being said, I am very proud to say I have committed to play division one football at the University of Iowa."
The 6-foot-4, 260-pound Jenkins also has offers from Toledo, Northern Illinois, Ball State, Bowling Green and Central Michigan.
