Ken O’Keefe gets reacquainted with the Iowa media
IOWA CITY, Iowa – Ken O'Keefe saw and conversed with a lot of familiar faces on Sunday as he met with the media for the first time since being hired as Iowa's new quarterbacks coach.
O'Keefe held a press conference at 11:45 a.m. Sunday morning at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, barley a hour before the Iowa-Nebraska men's basketball game.He addressed a number of topics and explained why he has decided to reunite with his long-time friend and coaching colleague, Kirk Ferentz.
O'Keefe spent 13 seasons as the Iowa offensive coordinator from 1999 to 2011, helping to rebuild the program. He left Iowa to coach receivers for the Miami Dolphins.
O'Keefe now works under Ferentz's son, Brian Ferentz, who recently was named Iowa's new offensive coordinator.
