Four-star safety Dallas Craddieth enjoys official visit to Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa football team was the second to offer four-star safety Dallas Craddieth over a year ago.
Over 20 other schools have come calling since then but if all goes as planned, Iowa’s efforts in trying to land the 6-foot-1, 180-pound Craddieth will come to fruition when he signs his national letter of intent in February.
A big step in that process happened last weekend when Craddieth, a native of Florissant, Mo., made an official visit to Iowa.
The visit was a success, and Craddieth still has Iowa in his top five along with Louisville, Nebraska, Indiana and Illinois.
“(What really stood out to me) was the people in Iowa,” Craddieth said. “They’re just some nice people and the coaching staff is a great staff. Iowa is still high on my list.”
Craddieth had visited Iowa multiple times before, but got a more in-depth look at the program during the visit, including the opportunity to spend time with current Iowa players.
“I got to hang out with the players a lot more,” Craddieth said. “(We talked about) just wanting time to commit and being a part of the family.”
Craddieth also got a chance to hear from some Iowa coaches about his potential to excel at Iowa.
“We just talked about my fit in the program and how I’d excel there and my future,” Craddieth said.
Craddieth said he is taking an official visit to Illinois this coming weekend.
Iowa currently has 14 players committed to its 2018 recruiting class.
