IOWA CITY, Iowa – Warren, Mich. defensive back Josh DeBerry got an inside look at the Iowa football program on Tuesday.
The visit was so enjoyable for the 2019 prospect that he now has Iowa among his top three schools along with Kentucky and Iowa State.
“I got to meet the coaches and some players,” DeBerry said. “I liked the people there. They showed a lot of love.
“They are definitely one of my top three schools.”
The 5-foot-11, 166-pound DeBerry values winning over anything else, and sees Iowa as a place that he can achieve that.
“I’m trying to win,” DeBerry said. “I want to go somewhere that I feel like family and somewhere that I can play.
“(Iowa is) a contender for the Big 10 championship and it is a winning program.”
Iowa’s penchant for sending players to the National Football League is also a big factor to DeBerry.
“It’s big knowing that they coaches develop NFL players,” DeBerry said.
DeBerry also has offers from Ball State, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Miami (Ohio), Northwestern, Toledo and Western Michigan.
