Indianapolis receiver David Baker receives first scholarship offer from Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Sunday was a special day in the life of Indianapolis receiver David Baker.
The class of 2020 prospect received his first scholarship offer from the Iowa football team, which has recruited the Indianapolis area heavily in recent years.
“It was my first offer and I’m extremely blessed to have it come from Iowa,” Baker said.
The offer will always stand out to the 6-foot-2, 181-pound Baker, but it is likely not his last.
Baker has also garnered interest from Michigan, Ohio State, Indiana, Northwestern and Purdue.
“It’ll be huge because it shows how they had the faith in me to give me the offer,” Baker said. “I mean, I’ve got interest from other schools but they were the first to offer.”
Baker hasn’t had a chance to learn a lot about Iowa, but is looking forward to building relationships with a coaching staff that he admires.
“The coaching staff (really stands out),” Baker said. "They are amazing. A great group of coaches on and off the field.”
Iowa currently does not have any commitments to its 2020 recruiting class.
