AH TV: Iowa players discuss 33-7 win over Northern Illinois
IOWA CITY, Iowa – It took some time, but the Iowa football team reeled off a 33-7 victory over Northern Illinois in its season opener on Saturday.
Iowa held just a 3-0 lead at halftime, but exploded for 30 points in the second half to give head coach Kirk Ferentz his record breaking 144th victory at Iowa.
Iowa was able to hold Northern Illinois' defense to just one sack despite being without its sophomore starting offensive tackles Tristan Wirfs and Alaric Jackson. The Huskies led the nation in tackles for loss and were second in sacks last season.
