AH TV: Iowa players talk about moving on from the devastating loss at Penn State and about Rondale Moore
IOWA CITY, Iowa – While some fans might still be venting over Iowa’s 30-24 loss at Penn State this past Saturday, the Iowa players say they have moved on.
Their only focus now is this coming Saturday’s game at Purdue. The Iowa players are determined to not let the Penn State loss linger and become two losses.
That was the narrative from Tuesday’s weekly press conference, as should have been expected because the Iowa players really have no choice but to move on.
There is no mercy in sports and no time for the Iowa players to feel sorry for themselves.
Nothing will change the fact that they blew a golden opportunity against Penn State. The game was there for the taking, but the Hawkeyes failed to take it, due mostly to committing some costly mistakes.
Iowa quarterback Nate Stanley performed woefully against Penn State, misfiring on 31 of his 49 passing attempts and throwing an interception near the Penn State end zone late in the fourth quarter.
Stanley said Tuesday that he has to learn from the experience and, you guessed it, move on.
The challenge of containing Purdue freshman receiver Rondale Moore was another hot topic on Tuesday. Moore leads the Big Ten with 68 catches in eight games for 802 yards.

Stanley is similar to Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz in that he never gets too high after a big win or too low after a devastating loss.
Stanley just keeps grinding, which is all he can do right now.
Northwestern currently has sole possession of first place in the Big Ten West Division with a 5-1 record, while Iowa and Wisconsin are both 3-2 with four games remaining.
Following this Saturday’s game at Purdue, Iowa will host Northwestern on Nov. 10 at Kinnick Stadium in a game that could go a long way in determining the West Division. The Wildcats have won 12 of their last 13 conference games dating back to last season.
