IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa Athletic Director Gary Barta spoke with the media on Sunday to address his recent selection to the College Football Playoff selection committee.

Barta said he was contacted by members of the selection committee about joining their 12-person group and that he was thrilled to be a part of the committee that picks the four teams to participate in the college playofff.

Barta has been the Iowa Athletic Director since 2006.
