IOWA CITY, Iowa – Ankeny native Brody Brecht went into the weekend with plans to attend a camp at Iowa.
The 2021 receiver left with a lot to think about after receiving a scholarship offer from the Hawkeyes.
“It means a lot and it’s an honor to have received an offer from a great program like Iowa,” Brecht said.
The 6-foot-4, 193-pound Brecht pointed to Iowa’s coaching staff as one thing that stands out to him about Iowa.
“Their coaching staff is very good as well as the players and the community,” Brecht said. “They really care about you and take you in as one of them.”
Brecht previously visited Iowa in February and said that he wasn’t totally taken by surprise when Iowa extended him the offer.
“I knew I was on their radar and that if I did well at their camp I thought they would offer,” Brecht said.
Brecht also has an offer from Iowa State and said that he didn’t have any more visits or camps planned in the near future.
Iowa currently has two players committed to its 2021 class.
