IOWA CITY, Iowa – Tyson Watson was the only recruit to visit Iowa over the weekend that didn't have a scholarship offer from the Hawkeyes.
That changed on Sunday when Watson, a native of Warren, Mich., announced via Twitter that he had received the offer.
"It felt great," Watson said. "It's my first Big Ten offer. I loved Iowa, it was definitely one of my favorite places I've been to."
The 6-foot-5, 243-pound Watson said that the Iowa coaching staff made him feel welcome during his visit.
"Everyone felt real like they wanted me to be there," Tyson said. "It felt genuine."
Watson also has offers from Central Michigan, Iowa State, Kentucky and Toledo but said he does not have a specific date he would like to make his college decision by.
"I'm just trying to take everything in right now," Watson said.
Iowa currently has three players committed to its 2021 recruiting class in Lena, Ill. offensive lineman Gennings Dunker, Urbandale, Iowa linebacker native Jaden Harrell and Cedar Rapids, Iowa offensive lineman Connor Colby.
Harrell, a three-star prospect according to Rivals.com, announced his commitment to Iowa on Sunday.
