Three-star big man Josh Ogundele nearing decision with Iowa among top five schools

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa basketball team hosted three-star British big man Josh Ogundele for the first time over the weekend.
The visit was so good that the 6-foot-11, 255-pound Ogundele has the Hawkeyes in his top five schools along with Cincinnati, Rhode Island, Rutgers and Virginia Tech.
“I like the community it’s in, the team itself, how they play, the coaching staff,” Ogundele said. “I think how close the team are together (stood out). Coach (McCaffery) has a good record, I would say. Yeah, just the team itself and how together they were.”
During his visit, Ogundele got the opportunity to speak with Oskaloosa, Iowa native and fellow 2020 big man Xavier Foster.
Foster also has Iowa among his top five schools and is planning on announcing his college decision in less than a month.
The two had the opportunity to hang out for almost the entire visit and discuss the possibility of playing together at Iowa.
“I got to hang out with him,” Ogundele said. “We talked a lot. It was good, it wasn’t a forced conversation. It could be good, both of us alternating. I obviously haven’t decided yet, but it could be good.”
Ogundele said he also plans on making his college choice before national signing day on Nov. 13.
Iowa currently has one player committed to its 2020 recruiting class in three-star Chicago guard Ahron Ulis.
