Tough decision between Iowa and Iowa State coming for three-star receiver Brody Brecht
By Tyler Devine
IOWA CITY, Iowa – At some point this summer, either the Iowa or Iowa State football team will receive a commitment from three-star receiver Brody Brecht.
The 2021 Ankeny native just has to decide which one after announcing his final two schools on Mar. 19.
“It’s a very tough decision,” Brecht said. “I like both schools a lot and have good relationships on both sides.”
While the two schools’ different offensive philosophies will factor into his decision, the 6-foot-4, 193-pound Brecht said it will mostly come down to the school that he believes can help him best achieve his goals.
“I would say I’m more familiar with Iowa State’s offense just because that’s more of what my high school does,” Brecht said. “But talking with Iowa coaches I would fit into their ‘X’ receiver spot well. I just want a place where I can excel.”
Last season, Brecht had 35 receptions for 796 yards and seven touchdowns.
He also has received scholarship offers from Kansas, Kansas State and Nebraska.
Iowa currently has eight players committed to its 2021 recruiting class, including six Iowa natives.
