IOWA CITY, Iowa – As a former Hawkeye and current Hawk fan, I’m excited for the unveiling of Hawkfanatic.com.

I have always enjoyed Pat Harty’s perspective and insight regarding the Hawkeye Sports teams. He is truly an amazing writer and will express his opinion and perspective even though sometimes to his own detriment when it comes to Hawk fans. But it is that no nonsense, straight forward perspective that keeps me coming back.

When we lost coach Fry this past February, I was having a difficult time finding ways to express myself and how I was feeling. While doing an interview with Pat, I was able to have a dialogue of experiences and moments that truly helped me to better define and articulate the profound effect Coach Fry had on my life.

Pat was able to share my thoughts about Coach to all hawk fans who cared to read my words. Growing up in the shadows of Kinnick stadium, being able to play there, and having a son play there has truly made me a HawkFanatic.

Pat also has a strong support staff led by Tyler Devine, who was born and raised in Iowa City and is the great, great nephew of Hawkeye football legend Aubrey Devine.
