IOWA CITY, Iowa – Redshirt freshman defensive back Daraun McKinney is the fourth Iowa football player in two weeks to enter the transfer portal, according to the Rivals NCAA Transfer Portal Twitter account.
McKinney, a native of River Rouge, Mich., was a member of Iowa’s 2019 recruting class but has seen limited game action this season.
Since Oct. 29, McKinney, along with redshirt freshmen Shadrick Byrd and Yahweh Jeudy and sophomore receiver Calvin Lockett all have entered the transfer portal.
Jeudy, a native of Pompano Beach, Fla., never saw game action at Iowa, while Byrd, a native of Alabaster, Ala., played on special teams in Iowa’s 2020 season opener against Purdue.
Two other members of Iowa’s 2019 class, offensive lineman Ezra Miller and defensive lineman Jalen Hunt, are at different schools.
Miller transferred to Nebraska, while Hunt is at Michigan State.
