IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa defensive back Julius Brents is entering the transfer portal, according to the Rivals.com NCAA Transfer Portal Twitter account.
The redshirt sophomore played extensively in Iowa’s season opener against Purdue, but has played mostly on special teams since.
The Indianapolis, Ind., native played in 11 games as a true freshman in 2018, but missed all but one game in 2019 due to injury.
The 6-foot-2, 204-pound Brents is the fifth player to leave Iowa since the beginning of the season joining Shadrick Byrd, Daraun McKinney, Yahweh Jeudy and Calvin Lockett.
Coming out of high school, Brents was rated four stars, according to Rivals.com.
