Iowa men’s basketball ranked fifth in new AP Top 25
Hawkeyes also ranked seventh in first NET rankings

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa men’s basketball team climbed five spots to No. 5 in the AP Top 25 poll released Monday.
The Hawkeyes (9-2, 3-1) also are ranked seventh in the first NCAA Evaluation Tool (NET) rankings of the season after wins over then-No. 19 Northwestern on Dec. 29 and then-No. 14 Rutgers on Jan. 2.
Iowa started the season ranked No. 3 nationally but fell to N0. 10 after losses to top-ranked Gonzaga and n0w-No. 16 Minnesota.
The Hawkeyes join Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Rutgers, Minnesota and Michigan State as Big Ten teams ranked in the AP Top 25.
Ohio State, Northwestern and Indiana also received votes.
