NFL Network to air 90-minute special featuring Duke Slater, Alex Karras
From Pro Football Hall of Fame
CANTON, OHIO – The Pro Football Hall of Fame will celebrate the careers and contributions of nine
men – members of either the Centennial Class of 2020 or the Class of 2021 – during a 90-minute
special that will air Saturday, May 1 on NFL Network and Tuesday, May 4 on ESPN2.
Those to be honored posthumously during “Hall of Famer Forever: Enshrinement Special” are
Centennial Class of 2020 members BOBBY DILLON, WINSTON HILL, ALEX KARRAS, STEVE
SABOL, DUKE SLATER, MAC SPEEDIE, ED SPRINKLE and GEORGE YOUNG, as well as BILL
NUNN from the Class of 2021.
The show will feature an exclusive video montage of each enshrinee and the unveiling of his Bronzed
Bust. After the show, the families of each enshrinee will place the Bronzed Bust on display in the Hall
of Fame Gallery inside the Museum. Many special guests and dignitaries, including NFL Commissioner
Roger Goodell, will be in attendance to honor these heroes of the game.
“From its inception, the Centennial Class of 2020 has been unique. A special Blue-Ribbon Panel
elected a 20-person class to commemorate the founding of the National Football League, with
enshrinees dating to the earliest eras of pro football,” said David Baker, President and CEO of the Pro
Football Hall of Fame.
“To recognize eight members of this class, along with trailblazer Bill Nunn from
the Class of 2021, in this special way brings us great excitement and great joy. We will honor these
men and their contributions to the Game in May and again in August as part of the ‘Greatest
Gathering in Football.’”
“Hall of Famer Forever: Enshrinement Special” will be recorded Wednesday, April 28 – the eve of the
2021 NFL Draft, which will be held in Cleveland.
“Honoring the legacies of these newest members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in conjunction with
the NFL Draft reminds us that the players of today stand on the shoulders of those who came before
them,” Baker said. “Every player chosen on Draft Weekend can look to these nine men – Legends
who form a line reaching back to the NFL’s earliest years – and learn important lessons about
commitment, courage and excellence to help him in his own journey.”
Dillion, Hill, Karras, Nunn, Sabol, Slater, Speedie, Sprinkle and Young also will be recognized this
summer during their respective Enshrinements – the Centennial Class of 2020 on Saturday, Aug. 7
and the Class of 2021 on Sunday, Aug. 8.
Hall of Fame Productions will co-produce “Hall of Famer Forever: Enshrinement Special” with its
media partners.
NFL Network will broadcast the show immediately following its Day 3 coverage of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Chris Rose and Steve Wyche will host the show.
ESPN2 will broadcast the show at 8 p.m. May 4.
