Three-star defensive lineman Demetrious Allen discusses interest in Iowa, official visit schedule

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa will be the first official visit for three-star 2022 defensive lineman Demetrious Allen from June 25-27.
Allen, a native of Leo, Ind., said he is eager to learn more about Iowa now that the NCAA has allowed in-person contact between coaches and recruits for the first time in over a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I think their numbers, as far as the NFL, stand out,” Allen said. “I love playing football and being able to go play for a school that has those types of results from their hard work and what they do I think is a great opportunity.”
Allen also has official visits set up at Rutgers and Northwestern and recently received a scholarship offer from Michigan.
The 6-foot-7, 230-pound Allen also has Power Five offers from Iowa State, Nebraska and Vanderbilt.
Allen said that he is eyeing a decision before football season, but that things could change.
“The ones that have put in the time and effort with me are the ones I’ve developed a friendly relationship with and trying to go visit,” Allen said. “Some of those I haven’t had set up yet, I’m going to see if I can visit unofficially. That’s all in progress and in the works.”
Iowa currently has two players committed to its 2022 recruiting class in four-star defensive lineman Aaron Graves and three-star defensive lineman Caden Crawford.
