Iowa Western defensive lineman Jordan van den Berg talks Iowa offer

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa Western defensive tackle Jordan van den Berg on Saturday became the latest in a flurry of scholarship offers extended by the Iowa football team recently.
The South Africa native received the offer during a campus visit.
“It’s an honor to get offered by any school,” van den Berg said. “Especially one with such a good culture and history.”
Van den Berg could join Iowa this fall if he chooses after spending one season at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs.
The 6-foot-3, 279-pound van den Berg also has a Power Five offer from Nebraska and said he plans to make his college decision after visiting Penn State on June 8.
“(Iowa) made me feel a part of the team already,” van den Berg said. “They also do a great job in their player development, and (defensive line) coach (Kelvin) Bell does a great job preparing and sending his defensive linemen to the NFL.”
Last season at Iowa Western, van den Berg had 20 tackles, one sack and four tackles for loss.
