IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa football team’s fourth commitment in its 2022 recruiting class is an Iowa legacy.
Linebacker Jayden Montgomery, the son of former Hawkeye defensive tackle Jerry Montgomery, announced his commitment to the Hawkeyes Tuesday night via Twitter.
Jayden Montgomery, a native of Suamico, Wis., was offered a scholarship during a visit to campus and promptly accepted.
Jerry Montgomery was a three-year starter at Iowa and is now the defensive line coach for the Green Bay Packers.
Jerry Montgomery was previously a defensive line coach at Michigan and Oklahoma.
The 5-foot-11, 210-pound Jayden Montgomery chose Iowa over scholarship offers from North Dakota State, Northern Iowa and others.
Iowa currently has four-star defensive lineman Aaron Graves, three-star defensive lineman Caden Crawford and three-star offensive lineman Jack Dotzler committed to its 2022 recruiting class.
