Alex Mota letting recruiting process come to him

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Since the Iowa football team was the first Power Five school to extend a scholarship offer to 2023 athlete Alex Mota in May, four other Power Five schools – Iowa State, Kansas State, Nebraska and Wisconsin – have come forward with offers.
Mota, a native of Marion, Iowa, received his most recent offer from Wisconsin on Monday, but said he is taking things slow with regard to the recruiting process.
“I like Iowa State a lot,” Mota said. “I like Iowa, but I keep all the offers as an offer.”
The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Mota also has taken visits to Missouri and Notre Dame, and said it’s still surreal to think he has the opportunity to play Power Five football.
“My family helps me out a lot,” Mota said. “Usually I just write down a lot of notes and keep track of all that stuff.”
Mota said he is visiting Iowa for its season opener against Indiana on Sept. 4, then visiting Iowa State for its battle against the Hawkeyes the next week.
Mota said he has not been recruited at a specific position yet and has no set timetable for a decision.
“I’ll see how things go after football season and start to narrow my choices down,” Mota said. “Then, probably next season or next school year I’ll choose what school I want to go to.”
