Four-star running back Jaziun Patterson commits to Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa football team has landed its second four-star recruit in the 2022 class.
Deerfield Beach, Florida native Jaziun Patterson announced his verbal commitment Tuesday on the Tony Sands Show on BBS Radio.
“They make me feel like family,” Patterson said. “I feel like their intentions are genuine and I get to play early. I’d rather go where I get to play early, rather than going to Florida or Alabama where the running back room is crowded.”
The 5-foot-10, 182-pound Patterson chose Iowa over a list of top 10 schools that included Auburn, Florida, Indiana and Penn State.
Patterson is the No. 17 ranked running back nationally and the 32nd-best 2022 recruiting in Florida, according to Rivals.com.
Iowa also has four-star defensive lineman Aaron Graves, a native of Gowrie, Iowa, committed to the class.
Graves has been committed to Iowa since June 2019.
Patterson is the ninth player overall to commit to Iowa’s 2022 class and the first running back.
Patterson also is the first player from Florida to commit to the class.
Patterson took a visit to Iowa in June.
