Hawk Fanatic week 9 predictions
IOWA CITY, Iowa – After back-to-back losses by a combined score of 51-14, the Iowa football team will look to get back in the win column against Northwestern on Saturday in Evanston, Illinois.
Our three panelists say it will happen with each of them picking Iowa to prevail, although, Dallas Jones thinks the final score will be much closer than what the other two panelists predicted.
Iowa’s offense struggled in all phases in the last two games against Purdue and Wisconsin, including rushing for just 24 yards and allowing six sacks in the 27-7 loss at Wisconsin last Saturday.
Iowa is ranked next to the last in the Big Ten in rushing.
However, the good news is that Northwestern is ranked last in the Big Ten in rushing defense, allowing 229.5 yards per game.

Iowa 28, Northwestern 13: Iowa prevails even though Pat Fitzgerald says afterward that he knew what play Iowa would run more often than he knew what play his own offense would run.
Purdue 27, Michigan State 23: Jeff Brohm has his players hypnotized before the game so they think they’re playing against Iowa, and it works as David Bell has 14 receptions for 245 yards and three touchdowns.
Penn State 34, Maryland 23: Asked what impact he thinks this win will have, James Franklin says he isn’t comfortable talking publicly about his pursuit of other jobs.
Ohio State 38, Nebraska 21: Scott Frost blames the loss on global warming, vaccine mandates, illegal immigration, masks, Name Image and Likeness, the earth being flat, Hollywood elites, wildfires and reality TV.
Iowa State 30, Texas 27: Matt Campbell is put in protective custody immediately after the game in order to keep other schools from contacting him.

Iowa 21, Northwestern 3 – Based on recent history, 21 points for the Hawkeyes might be a big ask.
Michigan State 34, Purdue 24 – Can you imagine what Wake Forest would look like if Kenneth Walker had stayed there?
Penn State 24, Maryland 21 – Who cares?
Ohio State 38, Nebraska 10 – Scott Frost blames the loss on Aaron Rodgers reportedly not being vaccinated.
Iowa State 27, Texas 21 – I don’t know which of these teams has been more disappointing this season, but I wouldn’t want to live on the difference.
Dallas Jones
Iowa 21, Northwestern 20 – There’s no way Northwestern actually wins this, but another poor performance from the Hawkeye offense would make social media really entertaining.
Michigan State 38, Purdue 10 – Purdue isn’t playing Iowa, so they will probably get absolutely man handeled.
Penn State 21, Maryland 27 – The best Tagovailoa in the country humbles the Nittany Lions before Michigan can.
Ohio State 45, Nebraska 24 – C.J. Stroud might ruin my Kenneth Walker Jr. for heisman campaign.
Iowa State 28, Texas 31 – Running backs matter.
