Iowa sophomore tight end Josiah Miamen enters transfer portal
IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa sophomore tight end Josiah Miamen announced on Thursday that he has entered the transfer portal and is now looking for a new school to continue his football career.
A native of Peoria, Illinois, Miamen has appeared in three games since arriving on campus in 2019. He is currently third on the depth chart behind starter Sam LaPorta and backup Luke Lachey.
Miamen is the second Iowa player to enter the transfer portal since the start of this season, with the other being redshirt freshman receiver and Florida native Quavon Matthews.
A broken hand forced Miamen to miss the entire 2020 season. He also was redshirted as a true freshman in 2019.
Miamen thanked the Iowa coaching staff for helping him grow as a player and person over the last 2 1/2 years. He also thanked the Iowa fans for making him feel at home and his Iowa teammates for the brotherhood they share, and for helping him make the transition to college.
