’23 Missouri WR Joshua Manning Discusses New Iowa Offer
Joshua Manning received his first in-person look at Iowa on Saturday when the Hawkeyes knocked off Minnesota in the Battle for Floyd of Rosedale. The Class of 2023 receiver ended up leaving campus with a scholarship offer.
“The morning after the game, coach (Kelton) Copeland gave me a quick call giving me an official offer. I was very happy and grateful,” Manning told HF.
The junior wideout from Lee’s Summit (MO) High added his Iowa opportunity to the ones he received from Kansas, Kansas State and Nebraska. Cincinnati, where he’s scheduled to visit next week, and others have been showing him interest.
The Hawkeyes impressed Manning during his weekend visit. He learned a lot about what they offer the student-athlete.
“I liked how they were big on developing. Improving myself and my game is important,” he said.
Copeland and fellow Iowa assistants Brian Ferentz, Tyler Barnes and Jason Manson spent time with Manning.
“They said I had great film and believed that I could be a big part of their future,” Manning said.
In 10 games as a junior this fall, Manning (6-3, 190) racked up 1,194 all-purpose yards and 12 touchdowns.
He views Iowa as a contender for his services.
“It could be a great landing spot,” Manning said.
His choice expands beyond the field.
“Academics is very big for my decision, but I haven’t decided what I want to study yet,” Manning said.
