Iowa Basketball Coach Meets with Media Wednesday
IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa basketball takes its four-game winning streak on the road to Michigan Thursday night. A victory would greatly improve the Hawkeyes’ chances of receiving a double-bye in next week’s Big Ten Tournament.
Wednesday morning, Iowa coach Fran McCaffery met with the media via Zoom. He talked about the development of this year’s Hawkeyes, his relationship with Michigan assistant coach Phil Martelli, the health of his son, Patrick McCaffery, and more.

Records: No. 24 Iowa is 21-8 overall and 11-7 in the Big Ten. Michigan is 16-12 and 10-8.
All-time series: Michigan holds a 98-65 edge in the series. The Wolverines won this season’s earlier meeting, 84-79, in Iowa City two weeks ago. The Wolverines hold a 54-24 advantage in games played in Ann Arbor. Michigan has won the last three meetings contested in the Crisler Center. Iowa’s last victory in Ann Arbor was on March 5, 2016 (81-71). Iowa’s 72-54 victory in Ann Arbor in 2015, was its largest margin of victory at Michigan in 61 years.
