Brevin Doll Developing Strong Relationship with Iowa Football
'24 In-State Athlete High on Hawkeyes
Brevin Doll ranks as one of the top high school football producers in the state. He’s magical with the pigskin in his hands.
The junior from Adel (IA) ADM High has piled up 1,617 all-purpose yards through seven games this fall. He’s averaged 7.5 yards per rush, 21.6 yards per catch and 28.7 yards per kick return.
College coaches are noticing. He reports a scholarship offer from Army. Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State, Missouri and others are paying close attention to his exploits.
The Hawkeyes brought Doll (6-1, 190) to campus for a junior day. He’s returned for a pair of games at Kinnick Stadium this fall.
“I’ve enjoyed building relationships with coaches and players on my Iowa visits,” he told HF. “Talking with different people gives me a good idea of the culture.”
Doll says he likes the Iowa culture. The Hawkeye coaches are keeping close tabs on his performance.
“Right now, the feedback that I’ve received from the Iowa staff is that they’re watching my junior season closely, and that they’re excited to continue to recruit me,” he said.
Doll has proven to be a good all-around athlete. He shared the scoring lead on the basketball team as a sophomore. In track, he ran the 100 meters in 10.74 seconds, the 200 in 21.89 and the 400 in 51.17.
He could project at several positions on the next level. That has him looking at overall college systems on both sides of the ball.
“After talking with multiple different (Iowa) coaches and watching the Hawkeyes play, I feel like it’s a playing style that would suit me well. However, just as importantly, it’s a place that has a culture that I could also see myself enjoying,” he said.
In addition to the Hawkeyes, Doll said he’s building strong bonds with coaches at Iowa State, Kansas State, Army, Harvard, Western Michigan, Northern Illinois, North Dakota State and others. He’s pleased with how the recruiting process is going.
“I feel like I’m right where I need to be. I’m really starting to get a feel for some different schools on the visits I’ve been on so far,” he said.
Doll will be visiting Western Michigan for its game against Ohio on Saturday. He’ll be at Kansas State on Oct. 29 and North Dakota State on Nov. 11.
While football is an important part of the process for Doll, he’s just as focused on academics.
“I’ve really taken an interest in nutrition in the past couple of years. I think that’s something I would enjoy studying in college,” he said.
