Kellen Lindstrom Reacts to New Offer from Iowa Football
'24 MO D-End Picks Up Hawkeye Opportunity
To say that Kellen Lindstrom’s recruiting is heating up might be an understatement. The Class of 2024 defensive end’s stock is soaring.
He reports scholarship offers from Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin since Nov. 27. Oklahoma is scheduled to be by to visit him at Springfield (MO) Glendale High next week. Iowa State, Kansas State, Ohio State, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Oregon State and Washington all are showing interest in him.
Lindstrom (6-5, 240) visited the Hawkeyes on Oct. 29 for their game against Northwestern. They offered him a scholarship on Monday.
“I actually didn’t know Iowa was going to offer,” Lindstrom told HF. “(Defensive line) coach (Kelvin) Bell and I were messaging. Then he asked me to give him a call. We spoke for a little bit, and then he offered. I was very excited.”
He watched Iowa roll over Northwestern, 33-13, in front of a packed Kinnick Stadium for Homecoming.
“The atmosphere at the game was amazing. You can tell the fans really love Hawkeye football. The best part was waving to the kids at the hospital. That really puts things into perspective,” he said.
Bell told Lindstrom he would fit well into what the Hawkeyes do up front on defense,
“They really like the way I play, being very physical and my size,” Lindstrom said.
Lindstrom is still learning about Iowa. He likes what he knows so far.
“The tradition and history at Iowa is really cool. It’s something that really stood out to me,” he said.
As a junior, Lindstrom registered 73.0 tackles (40 solo, 10.0 for loss) in 10 games, according to Max Preps. He added 5.0 sacks, recovered a fumble and blocked a field goal.
Lindstrom said he’s still undecided on a college major.
247Sports currently ranks Lindstrom as a three-star prospect, the No. 69 defensive lineman nationally in the ’24 class and the No. 16 player overall in Missouri for the cycle.
