Hawk Fanatic podcast: Fran McCaffery, Don Patterson both make appearances
IOWA CITY, Iowa – We pack a lot into the Hawk Fanatic radio show and podcast on Friday as Fran McCaffery and Don Patterson both appear as guests.
Patterson’s interview starts about 15 minutes into the podcast and lasts for approximately 30 minutes as he addresses multiple topics, including the Iowa football team’s activity in the transfer portal. He also provides an analytical breakdown of Saturday’s matchup between Michigan and Purdue in the Big Ten Championship game.
Fran McCaffery joins the podcast at approximately the 60-minute mark and his interview lasts for about 35 minutes.
He addresses his team’s upcoming schedule, which includes facing Duke next Tuesday in New York City, and Iowa State next Thursday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
McCaffery also talks about his ongoing mission to raise for money for cancer research, and he pays tribute to Dick Vitale for his work with the Jimmy V. Foundation for Cancer Research.
This cause means a great deal to Fran McCaffery and to his wife Margaret McCaffery.
Fran lost his parents to cancer, and his son, current Iowa basketball player Patrick McCaffery, had a malignant tumor removed from his thyroid when he was in junior high.
We appreciate Fran McCaffery and Don Patterson both sharing their insights with us.
