2024 Wisconsin guard Taylor Stremlow commits to Iowa women’s basketball team
IOWA CITY, Iowa – Taylor Stremlow isn’t even halfway through her junior season, and she lives just a few miles from the Wisconsin campus.
But she already knows that she wants to be a Hawkeye.
Stremlow, a 5-foot-9 guard in the 2024 class from Verona, Wisconsin, announced her commitment to the Iowa women’s basketball team Wednesday on Twitter.
“So excited for what’s ahead,” Stremlow wrote on Twitter.
Stremlow picked Iowa over scholarship offers from Illinois, Penn State and her home-state Badgers.
She is ranked as the fourth best junior prospect in Wisconsin by Prep Girls Hoops.
Iowa associated head coach Jan Jensen referred to the commitment on Twitter without mentioning Stremlow’s name specifically because coaches are prohibited from commenting publicly on a specific recruit before the recruit has signed a letter of intent.
“It’s a good day Hawk fans. The future is bright,” Jensen wrote Wednesday. “
Stremlow is averaging 16.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and nine assists per game this season for her high school team that is off to a 6-1 start.
