Denver Broncos pick Iowa DB Riley Moss in third round
IOWA CITY, Iowa – From being a 2-star recruit coming out of high school to the 83rd pick overall in the 2023 NFL draft, Riley Moss is the latest example of Iowa’s ability to develop players under Kirk Ferentz.
The Denver Broncos selected Moss in the third round of the draft on Friday.
The Ankeny native is the fourth Iowa player to be taken in the 2023 draft and the 18th Iowa defensive back to be selected in the NFL draft under Kirk Ferentz.
Moss played five seasons for the Hawkeyes, using his free Covid year to play this past season as a fifth-year senior.
He had a knack for making big plays as a cornerback, including recording two pick-sixes against Indiana in the 2021 season opener.
Moss ranks second at Iowa in career interception return yards (239) and is one of four players with three interception return touchdowns. he also shares Big Ten record with two interception return touchdowns in a game.
