Iowa Football Offers Talented ’25 Trey McNutt
Super Sophomore Intrigued by Hawkeyes
Trey McNutt hears from others that he’s good. He’s not trying to heard it, however.
The Class of 2025 Athlete reports 20 scholarship offers already. The list includes blue bloods like Ohio State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Tennessee and Michigan. His goals are bigger than being wanted in recruiting.
“There’s nothing to brag about,” he told HF. “Yeah, I got offers, but I’m not No. 1. And even when I am No. 1, there are still greats that are levels above me in the Hall of Fame.
“I just keep my head down and keep grinding to become one of those; just be humble and stay hungry. That’s how success will come.”
McNutt (6-0, 180) reported an Iowa scholarship offer on Wednesday. The Shaker Heights (OH) High athlete began researching the program and university.
“I know that Iowa first began playing football as a club sport. I don’t know much about the school, though. I would like to find out more about the school,” he said
The athletic, versatile McNutt is being recruited on both sides of the ball. The Hawkeyes see him as a receiver.
“I will try to get down there sometime for a visit,” he said.
On3 and 247Sports rank McNutt as a four-star prospect. He’s awaiting a Rivals rating. 247 sees him as the No. 90 overall player nationally and eighth best in Ohio for ’25, while On3 has him at No. 169 and fourth in the cycle.
Wisconsin, Illinois and Purdue are the other Big Ten schools to have reportedly offered McNutt. He’s visited Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Pittsburgh, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Ohio State and Notre Dame.
