Cameron Herron Discusses Hawkeye Offer
'25 Indianapolis OL Visited Iowa Recently
Cameron Herron visited Iowa Football last month while the Hawkeyes were navigating their way through Spring practice. Last week, they offered the 2025 Indianapolis Warren Central offensive lineman a scholarship.
“I received my Iowa offer during college night at Warren Central,” Herron told HF. “Iowa has been following my work ethic, athleticism and attention to detail. Therefore, l feel that my performance during college night further reinforced a fit.”
One of the Midwest’s top prep programs, Warren Central produces a lot of Division I talent. Former Hawkeyes Justin Britt and Julius Brents are alums. Iowa assistant Kelvin Bell has good connections at the school.
Iowa had company when offering Herron (6-4, 260) the scholarship on May 4. Indiana, Duke, Marshall and Ball State also offered that day. He already had reported offers from Miami (OH), Toledo and Western Michigan.
The Hawkeyes have connected with the high school sophomore. He likes what he sees.
“The University of Iowa has a well-established football program. Therefore, I feel that Iowa will provide me everything that I need to get to the next level both athletically and academically. I look forward to the next visit,” he said.
Herron does not yet have a ranking from 247Sports, On3 or Rivals. Expect that to change soon with Power 5 schools offering.
In addition to Iowa, Herron has visited Louisville, Western Michigan, Miami (OH) and Purdue. He has not planned any more stops as of now.
“All my future college visits depend on invitations and offers,” he said.
