Iowa Football Hosts Will Tompkins
'25 Cedar Falls Lineman Attends Hawkeye Tailgater
Will Tompkins is emerging as one of the top preps in Iowa for 2025. The Cedar Falls offensive lineman holds a Power 5 offer and interest from plenty of other programs.
That includes Iowa, where he visited this past weekend. The Hawkeyes held their annual recruiting tailgater for invited prospects with more than a year of high school remaining.
“The coaches’ personalities really stood out to me,” Tompkins told HF. “They are all amazing people.”
Tompkins (6-3, 200) reported that his first scholarship offer came from Iowa State last week, when he camped with the Cyclones. He also visited Minnesota and Illinois during the spring.
“I’m being recruited by a lot of schools, but the ones most interested are definitely Iowa, Iowa State, Illinois, Minnesota, K-State and Nebraska,” he said.
The Hawkeye staff let Tompkins know it’s interested in building a relationship with him.
“The coaches said that they like my attention to detail and effort, and like me a lot as a person,” he said.
Tompkins said he likes Iowa offensive line coach George Barnett and the history of success the program has enjoyed at the position. With his recruiting process just starting, there’s time to get to know the Hawkeyes better.
Chances are good more schools will be watching Tompkins this fall. He’s ready to impress them as well.
“I hope to show college coaches that I’m a very hard-working kid, and that I’m working towards my dream every day,” he said.
Tompkins looks very athletic with quick feet during his sophomore highlights (below). From right tackle, he smoothly reaches blocks up and down the line, gets his hands inside quickly and finishes well.
