Top Targets for Iowa’s 2025 Recruiting Class
Six Seniors-To-Be Already Pledged to Hawkeyes
The Iowa Football coaches won’t be in their offices much this month. The staff is out on the road evaluating prep prospects during a contact period that concludes at the end of the month.
The main focus of this two-month recruiting push is strengthening the 2025 Class. The Hawkeyes currently have six known verbal commitments in the cycle. That group likely will grow significantly by the end of June.
Iowa will play host to commitments and top targets the weekend of June 21. It’s usually a successful endeavor annually.
Already-pledged prospects help recruit their future teammates. They and their families bond with the families of the visitors still searching for a college home.
Right now, that group includes in-staters Joey VanWetzinga (Pleasant Valley) and Thomas Meyer (Clear Lake), Burke Gautcher and Carson Cooney from Illinois, quarterback Jimmy Sullivan (Indiana) and Wisconsin tight end Eli Johnson. Here’s a closer look at guys who could join them:

Scouting sites 247 and On3 heavily favor the Hawkeyes to get a commitment from the legacy recruit.
