Hawk Fanatic podcast: Iowa AD Beth Goetz talks Hawkeye athletics, NCAA settlement
IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa Athletic Director Beth Goetz is the guest on Friday’s Hawk Fanatic radio show and podcast.
She addresses multiple topics, including the nearly $2.8 billion settlement that has been approved by the NCAA and the nation’s five largest conferences. The plan still needs approval from plaintiffs and a federal judge. It calls for paying damages to thousands of former and current college athletes who say the now-defunct NCAA rules kept them from earning endorsement money.
Goetz also gives updates on facility upgrades, and on the search to replace Ed Podolak as the radio color commentary for Iowa football.
She also talks about Lisa Bluder’s retirement and about the process of hiring Jan Jensen as Bluder’s successor.
We appreciate Beth taking time from her busy schedule to talk with us.
