Iowa women face Wisconsin in Big Ten Tournament first-round Wednesday in Indianapolis

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Only three days after having defeated Wisconsin on Senior Day, the Iowa women’s basketball team will try to make it 31 straight wins over the Badgers when the teams meet in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament Wednesday in Indianapolis.
Iowa defeated Wisconsin 81-66 this past Sunday in Iowa City and finished the regular season with records of 10-8 in conference play and 20-9 overall under first-year head coach Jan Jensen.

It marks the ninth straight season that Iowa has won at least 20 games.
Iowa also has won 30 straight games against Wisconsin dating back to Feb. 25, 2007, and leads the all-time series, 60-20.
Iowa is seeded 11th in the Big Ten Tournament, which it has won in four of the last six seasons, including the last three in a row with former star guard Caitlin Clark leading the way.
Senior guard Lucy Olsen, who transferred from Villanova prior to this season, leads Iowa in scoring with an 18.0 per-game average.
She also leads the team with 129 assists and is second on the team with 44 3-point baskets.
Olsen was named first-team All-Big Ten by both the coaches and the media on Tuesday, while junior forward Hannah Stuelke was named to the second team by the media.
Senior forward Syd Affolter received honorable mention from the media and was the recipient of Iowa’s Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
