IOWA CITY, Iowa – Wisconsin native Brody Schaffer, whose versatility has stood out on the football field, is the latest player to commit to Iowa’s 2026 recruiting class.
Schaffer has played quarterback, receiver and safety in high school, but he projects as a receiver for the Hawkeyes, who made a strong impression on Schaffer when he recently attended a junior day event in Iowa City.
“I attended their junior day and I immediately felt at home,” the 6-foot-1, 185-pound Schaffer said via a text message. “The way they’ve treated me throughout this process is amazing and I’m forever grateful for their belief in me as a player.
“They have a great fan base and support that makes playing at Iowa a really special opportunity. The coaching staff is consistent and has some of the purest and most down to earth people. And that’s what has helped me make this decision.”
Schaffer, ranked as a three-star recruit by Rivals, chose the Hawkeyes over scholarship offers from Washington State, Northwestern, Texas State among others. Iowa State and Wisconsin also reportedly expressed interest.
A native of Winneconne, Wisconsin, Schaffer passed for 1,800 yards and rushed for 1,774 yards as a junior in 2024 while accounting for 48 touchdowns.
Schaffer is the seventh high school player to commit Iowa’s 2026 class.
