Hawkeyes Offer Braylon Hodge
'26 Colorado LB Officially Visiting Iowa
Iowa football coaches hit the road this week, seeing several priority prospects in the 2026 Class. With nine verbal commitments in the cycle to date, there was room to hand out scholarship offers.
One of them went to linebacker Braylon Hodge on Wednesday. Position coach Seth Wallace visited the Englewood (CO) Cherry Creek product at his home and presented the opportunity.
“I really like the football program as a whole, player development, longevity of the coaching staff and the dedicated fan base,” he said.
Hodge (6-3, 212) previously reported scholarship offers from UNLV, San Diego State, Utah, Colorado State and others. He’s set an official visit to see the Rebels in Las Vegas on June 6. Iowa earned a stop with Wednesday’s news.
“I’m planning on coming out for an official visit the end of June,” he said.
He’s familiar with the Hawkeyes’ reputation on his side of the ball.
“Iowa’s defense is a power house, very disciplined and aggressive. The development from the coaches is elite,” Hodge said.
Iowa’s academics also interest him.
“I’m undecided on a major, but I’m leaning towards Business or Sports Management,” Hodge said.
Prep Redzone Colorado ranks him as the 120th player overall in Colorado for 2026, No. 24 among linebackers/athletes. 247Sports sees him as the 92nd-best linebacker nationally in the cycle, and the No. 11 overall player in the state.
As a junior in 2024, Hodge recorded 50.0 tackles (28 solo, 4.0 TFL), adding a sack, an interception, a forced fumble and two pass breakups. He helped his team win a state championship.
Hodge is an active linebacker that’s comfortable coming from the outside in tracking down the ball. He shows straight-line speed and lateral quickness.
