2026 Norwalk 4-star TD Luke Brewer commits to Iowa
By Hawk Fanatic
IOWA CITY, Iowa – Norwalk tight end Luke Brewer had scholarship offers from some of the top schools across the nation.
But the four-star prospect has decided to stay home and try to build on the Iowa football team’s reputation as “Tight End U.”
The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Brewer announced his commitment to Iowa on Wednesday, picking the Hawkeyes over Tennessee, Iowa State and Miami (Fla.).
“I’M Home,” Brewer posted on X, sharing a graphic with him in Hawkeye gear.
Brewer was previously in the 2027 class, but he reclassified to the 2026 class to get a jump on his college career.
And now he knows where that will take place, just about two hours from his hometown.
“That’s a great catch for them. He’s one of the best players in the state,” said veteran recruiting analyst Tom Lemming. “It’s good that Iowa kept him home.”
Asked what he likes about Brewer as a prospect Lemming said:
“He’s got good size, good growth potential, good hands, a very good athlete . Nowadays the tight end has to be one of the best athletes on the team.”
Iowa has earned the nickname as Tight End U because of all the tight ends that have excelled under veteran head coach Kirk Ferentz, a list that includes George Kittle, Noah Fant, TJ Hockenson and Sam LaPorta just to name a few.
