IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa women’s basketball team has added what appears to be the final two pieces to its 2026-27 roster.
The Hawkeyes have signed 5-foot-6 junior guard Cambria “Bria” Medina, who played for Division III Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois where she averaged 23.6 points, 5.3 assists and 2.7 steals per game last season. She also shot 87 percent from the free throw line.
Medina, who is from Tucson, Arizona, will have one season of eligibility.
Medina finished second in Division III in scoring last season. She was also named the Midwest Conference Player of the Year and made first-team all-conference three times while at Knox.
“We are so excited to add Bria to our program,” Iowa head coach Jan Jensen said in a release. “Her energy and gratitude to be a part of our family is the coolest part about her. She had a great deal of scoring success at Knox College and has an immense amount of appreciation for our sport. Her mindset and work ethic is what set her apart for us as we went through the process.”

Iowa also has signed Swedish freshman forward Ella Strömdahl, who averaged 6.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game while playing for RIG Lulea in the Swedish Professional League.
Strömdahl has also competed on Sweden’s under-16 and under-18 national teams during her prep career.
The Des Moines Register was the first to report on the two commitments.
“Ella is a versatile wing that we are really excited about joining our team,” Jensen said. “We like her ability to put it on the floor and to shoot it. Ella has a ton of potential, and we are thrilled to have her in Iowa City. Just like Bria, Ella is a great young woman that we look forward to working with.”
After losing five players to the transfer portal shortly after this past season ended, Iowa has since added five players to its roster.
In addition to Medina and Stromdahl, Iowa also has signed former Georgia guard Dani Carnegie, former Oklahoma State guard Amari Whiting and former Georgia forward Jocelyn Faison.
Iowa will also add 2026 five-star recruit MeKenna Woliczko to its roster this summer. The 6-2 Woliczko, who is from San Bruno, California, signed with Iowa in November.
Iowa finished 27-7 this past season, including 15-3 in the Big Ten, and advanced to the second-round of the NCAA Tournament under second-year coach Jan Jensen.
