IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa women’s basketball coach Jan Jensen made her latest guest appearance on the Hawk Fanatic radio show and podcast on Friday.

She addressed multiple topics, including the challenge of trying to sustain a culture of continuity in this age of the transfer portal and NIL.

Iowa lost five players to the transfer portal since the end of the 2025-26 season, but has since added five players from the portal, and will also add incoming five-star recruit McKenna Woliczko to the roster.

Jensen has compiled an impressive 50-18 record in her first two seasons as the Head Hawk, but she is just 2-2 in the NCAA Tournament. She talked in the podcast about balancing those two records and about the expectations for next season.

Jensen also talked about the rise of junior-to-be center Ava Heiden, who led Iowa in scoring last season with an 18.0 per-game average.
